Biome is pronounced bye-oh-m (rhymes with 'home').
Biome was founded by Tracey Bailey and is a small family business. After working in corporate communications and starting a family, we made a choice to be part of the solution to our planet's future.
Beginning in 2003 as an online shop, we grew into a physical store in Paddington (Brisbane) in June 2005, then opened our second store in the Brisbane CBD in September 2007. We now have a store at Indooroopily Shopping Centre and an online warehouse in Milton. We are a multi-talented team who bring to work every day an ethusiasm to help you with the simple choices that will make a difference.
Our stores are overflowing with learning and products that meet our environmental and ethical criteria (see them below). We bring you a wide range of natural skin care and green cleaning, plus safe, reusable bottles and many more products that help you live a waste free, toxin free and ethical life. We specialise in beautiful Australian hand-made gifts and home accessories, making it easy for you to support Australian small business.
Biome was inspired by those of us who want to make a difference, but may feel the actions we take have little impact. Expressing your values through your purchasing power will make a difference. By supporting the people making our products, you are helping to make their dreams viable and encouraging responsible enterprise.
We believe that the everyday choices of individuals do have the power to transform our world. By living in harmony with our planet and all who share it, we empower ourselves, enrich our lives and enhance wellbeing.

What Is Certified Organic?
When you see a Certified Organic certification logo, it is your promise that the product is ;
- 100% NATURALLY DERIVED
- CRUELTY FREE
- GMO FREE
- CHEMICAL, PESTICIDE & INSECTICIDE FREE
- CREATED WITH SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION
- MONITORED BY AN EXTERNAL BODY FROM EARTH TO STORE
Why is choosing Certified Organic important?
Did you know that in Australia, a company can claim something is “organic” if it contains only one “natural” ingredient, yet it may contain MANY & MULTIPLE synthetic and highly toxic chemicals?
This is a practice called ‘greenwashing’ & is unfortunately, big business. Until such time as the Australian law changes, WE as consumers need to be vigilant in our choices.
Whilst the word ORGANIC may be a marketing buzzword, CERTIFIED ORGANIC is not.
Certified Organic products are true representations of nature and are the consumers ONLY guarantee that the products they are purchasing are free from ALL toxic & synthetic ingredients.
5 Reasons To Choose Certified Organic …
- 60% of what ever you apply on your skin is absorbed directly in to your blood stream. The average woman puts over 200+ chemicals a day on her skin. Research is showing our babies are being born pre-polluted with on average over 200 chemicals in their little bodies at birth.
- The Cosmetics Industry in Australia is self-regulating. This means the very people who create conventional cosmetics (skin, hair, beauty, personal, baby, oral care products) are the very people who deem whether those products and the chemicals used in them are safe.
- Chemicals are used in everyday products on the basis they are safe until proven otherwise. No health studies or pre-market testing is required for cosmetic or personal care products. The reality (if you are not choosing Certified Organic) is that there are literally thousands of chemicals used in everyday products that have never been tested for safety.
- Many conventional personal care & beauty products contain a multitude of highly toxic chemicals linked directly to illness & disease.
- Green ‘washing’ is BIG BUSINESS. There is a huge misrepresentation in relation to the use of the word organic. A company can claim something is “organic” if it contains one natural ingredient, yet it may contain hundreds of chemicals and still be labelled … organic or natural. Certified Organic is your only guarantee if you wish to purchase chemical free product.

Hi I'm 'Cowboy' Don...
Over the years in the international media I've been referred to as, "The Indiana Jones of Wholefood Medicine" because of my 17 year quest that took me around the world in search of an ancient sacred meal called, Pulse.
Even though I'm widely considered 'an enemy in the camp' of the health care industry, ironically I'm invited in to share my perspective at medical symposiums all around the world.
It's interesting to me that so often when I get up in front of hundreds and even thousands of doctors, scientist and researchers at these events, the audience is freaked out by my renegade look, but pretty soon I am just about always receiving applause and even standing ovations.
And it's not because of "me".
It's because I'm all about cutting through the BS and bringing back the wisdom of our brilliant ancestors who understood the physics of nature around them and how it relates tobeing healthy and avoiding sickness and disease.
The vast majority of Doctor's visits are completely unnecessary, and in my opinion, are leading people down a path that is actually doing more harm than good.
The problem is that there is so much corporate interest and financial weight behind government backed "health care" - which also influences the media and the masses - that it's tough to see the truth unless you go searching for it.
And so for nearly 50 years now publicly, I've been all about helping people to wake up and consider a more logical, reasonable, common-sense path that I call, SELF CARE.
Self Care is everything because your health is everything.
And when you gain the knowledge and confidence to embrace the principles of health, you no longer live in fear and uncertainty because you realise that no 'credentialed expert' could possibly know more about your body than you.
Now, please don't get me wrong.
I do agree with about the 2% of work that the health care industry does, which is in the treatment of crises and trauma, immediately following accidents.
And I do realise that many experts within the medical world are very sincere about wanting to be involved in a career helping people.
The problem is that their training has been put in place by an industry whose primary global, agenda is the perpetuation and treatment of sickness and disease for profit.
For decades I've had the opportunity to be involved with doctors, medical groups, scientific researchers and to work with literally thousands of people around the world who have been failed by the "healthcare" system.
And it's through this process, that I’ve come to realise that about 98% of what the health care industry does, is actually doing more harm than good.
My purpose is to not only raise awareness about the pitfalls of “health care”, but to simply share the wisdom of self care that your ancestors wanted you to know.
From there, you'll have the knowledge and power to choose a path that's right for you and to even learn to heal yourself and live a happy, healthy, dis-ease free life.

EnviroCare Earth was created by a concerned Western Australian mother who was worried that chemicals in daily products that she used on her children and herself were harming them and the environment. The enviroCare Earth brand has grown since then, and is now proudly owned by a Western Australian family company that is still as passionate & serious about promoting products that have as minimal an effect on your health & our environment while maintaining an efficacy equivilant to expensive & less conscientious ranges.
We use sustainably sourced plant based ingredients in keeping with the ethos that our company was based on when it was formed in 1994.
enviroCare was one of the founding brands that was keen to supply the market with an alternative to the toxic & unnecessary chemicals in the early years and has since grown to be a brand that is respected and valued Australia wide.
Removing ingredients that have been found to either cause environmental or personal harm has always been a priority and over the years we have been able to make our range significantly safer for people and the environment. enviroCare (since 2011) has removed all palm oil due to the environmental damage inflicted on the earth and it's native animals. In the process and manufacture of palm oil extraction the damage to the environment is extensive and not sustainable . Our products are now all formulated with coconut and other plant based oils providing all the benefits for our skin & hair without denuding or upsetting the balance of our natural environment. Using enviroCare products in your bathroom and kitchen will also assist with daily cleaning as all of our products are soap free and do not contain animal fats that can cause scum and soap build up on glass and surfaces.
Our ranges economical sizes are a bonus for families and to reduce landfill because you have the opportunity to dispence into your own containers or original enviroCare smaller size containers. We believe that conscientious usage of all personal & household products and the packaging is something we can all do to lighten the load for our bodies and our planet.
enviroCare products are suitable for vegans as we do not use any animal or by products of animals, including bees wax.
All enviroCare Earth products are based on the highest quality plant based ingredients, and are sustainable and locally sourced where possible.

Food Matters: You Are What You Eat
This is how Laurentine and I came up with Food Matters. If we couldn’t get my father to read about nutrition and natural health, we figured we could probably convince him to watch a film on the subject. We had researched many of the films that existed on the topic. Although many were good and some were excellent, we weren’t convinced that any of these films would win over my father. Let’s face it, the alternative health industry has a bit of a bad reputation. When most people picture a natural therapist, they envision a man or a woman in sweatpants or a dashiki spinning crystals in his or her backyard. They certainly don’t picture a doctor who can help them get better. And Roy was no different. We knew he needed to see natural health in a new light. So we decided to make a film that would restore the image of the wonderful men and women who, through their life-changing work, live up to Hippocrates’s famous saying, “Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food.”
We invested our life’s savings into making Food Matters. We bought some film equipment and traveled around the world—from Holland, Laurentine’s home country, and England to the East and West Coasts of the United States, and then Australia—to interview all of the doctors, nutritionists, scientists, and wellness experts we had been studying throughout Roy’s illness.
After our second month of filming, we brought the raw footage to Roy, telling him we weren’t leaving until he got well. We were on a mission, and no one could stop us—not even Roy or his team of doctors. As a family, we watched the unedited interviews. Before long, Roy was hooked. What stood out, he told us later, was the story about one of his many medications and how it often caused suicidal thoughts. This was Roy’s worst fear. He couldn’t believe the pharmaceutical and medical industries would knowingly produce and sell a product that could potentially cause people to physically harm themselves. Not only was modern medicine’s better-living- through- chemistry approach not helping, it was making him worse. Almost immediately, he went from believing in the medical profession to believing in the age-old adage “You are what you eat.”
